Hold Lurie accountable

Regarding: “S.F. changed its police chase policy. Did it lead to parklet crash that injured 7?” (San Francisco, SFChronicle.com, Feb. 10): It’s baffling that this story talks about former San Francisco Mayor London Breed’s role in the creation of Proposition E, the police reform ballot measure that I think led to this accident, without a single mention of how Mayor Daniel Lurie propelled it.
During the election campaign, my Instagram and YouTube feeds were overrun with ads for Prop E with Lurie’s face plastered all over them. Lurie was so enamored with Prop E that he created his own committee to fundraise and advocate for it, which was a huge part of his (successful) mayoral bid.
Lurie was an undeniable force in Prop E’s passage — so why does the story dwell on Breed without calling him out whatsoever?
Now that Lurie is our mayor it’s even more important that we hold him accountable for his actions. So let’s be honest about his role in this tragic situation.
