Evolve California was proud to support Chesa Boudin when he ran for District Attorney in 2019 and we oppose this unfounded recall with equal conviction.

It is sad that Chesa’s progressive record and dedication to reforming the criminal justice system has made him a target for recall efforts. Recalls should only be used to remove elected officials who engage in the most egregious or illegal behavior. Chesa has done nothing that meets this criteria.

Furthermore, we cannot overlook the immense amount of money from wealthy right wing individuals that is pouring in to fund this recall effort and similar efforts around the country. These outside forces should not be allowed to subvert the will of San Francisco voters who democratically elected Chesa Boudin to a four year term.
