California is Facing an Unprecedented Teacher Shortage

With teachers often taking extra precautions to keep themselves and their classrooms safe, substitute teachers have become the unsung heroes of the back to school season.

However, for most people it doesn’t pay enough to make a living or justify the risks of working during a pandemic. Increasing funding for our schools not only ensures our kids the resources they need, but also allows our teachers and substitutes to earn a livable and worthwhile wage.
