Increased Education Means a Shift Toward the Democrats

College degrees have always meant an association to liberal ideology. What has been new, however, is the shift of college graduates toward the Democratic party. But as college-educated Americans surge in numbers, we do not see growth in Democratic voters as an equal amount of white voters without college degrees flock to the Republicans.

This just strengthens what we already know about education: it is an effective deterrent against right-wing lies. This is exactly why we need to prioritize funding our public schools; giving everyone access to quality education doesn’t only mean an informed electorate, it also means an electorate that isn’t swayed by deception and fear tactics.
