Pandemic Demonstrates Need for Digital Equity in California Schools

The COVID 19 pandemic caused school districts across California to expand digital connectivity and broadband usage, but major equity gaps remain! Forty one percent of low income households do not have full digital access, resulting in resource and performance disparities among students.

Luckily, recent increases in federal and state funding for education can help diverse school districts provide high speed internet to their communities. We need more funding to fully expand broadband access to all students in California!
